Testing the interface

If problems arise during communication between the
Engineering Tool and the KS 98, it is best to check the interface first.
This can be done best with an "empty" engineering that contains no
function blocks, and is generated in the ET / KS 98 with the menu item
"File - New". Subsequently, the empty engineering is transmitted by
means of the menu item "File - Project PC -> KS98 - Engineering".
The transmission is completed within a few seconds, and if successful, it is
confirmed by the message "No fault found...".
Should a problem arise during transmission, the cable between the devices
should be checked first, followed by the interface settings, the selected COM
port, transmission speed, and the address.
Of course, this test also works with the Simulation Tool SIM / KS 98.
